Faculty Spotlight..
We are excited to announce Wen Zhao as our new Science Department Head beginning in the 2012-13 school year.  Mr. Zhao teaches Pre-AP and AP Biology and Anatomy and Physiology, and has been a member of the WCS faculty for two years.  He holds a Bachelors of Sciences in Microbiology and Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis, and earned a Masters of Sciences & Engineering in Engineering Biotechnology & Molecular Cell Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.  This summer Mr. Zhao participated in a Science and Engineering Program for teachers at MIT.  Out of over 1,000 applicants, he was selected to fill one of only 40 spots available in the program.

Mr. Zhao is a tremendous asset to WCS and I am excited to see the growth that is certain to take place within the Science Department at WCS.  His willingness to continue expanding his knowledge of Science is an awesome example to our faculty, and will lend benefit to his continued success as a teacher.  He has helped transform the Science Department, heightening expectations and opportunities for our students, and we are extremely blessed to have him.

A Note From Mr. Glenn..

Mr.Glenn

I hope that you all have enjoyed participating in the 12 Days of Prayer as much as I have!  We have covered some important topics that focus on building up our school according to God’s will, and keeping Him at the center of all we do.  It is awesome to have also included every WCS student, by name, within each of the 12 days.  Day 12 is today, Tuesday, February 28th, and we plan to gather together for chapel and reflect on the things we have lifted up, and reinforce the purpose behind our prayers.

I would like to give a shout out to our boys and girls basketball teams who have advanced to the final four of the TAPPS state tournament after winning this Saturday!  We will not have school this Friday and I am hoping to see Wildcat Nation at Mansfield Legacy High School, in Mansfield, TX to support our ‘Cats!  The girls face T.K. Gorman at 6pm, and the boys will take on Trinity Cedar Hill at 8pm.

Have a blessed week and GO WILDCATS!!
