Glenshire Park in the Brays Oaks Management District was the site of the City of Houston’s annual Arbor Day celebration/activation on Saturday, Feb. 4, and the event went by some outstanding numbers:
— As many as 1,000 trees planted
— By dozens of community volunteers
— Who were “of all ages”
— On the city’s 37th annual holiday planting event
— In an inch or two of mud from recent rainfall
Mayor Sylvester Turner (at mic in photo), City Council members, Houston Parks and Recreation Department staff and management district board members pitched in.
Thank you to everyone who helped guarantee that part of our district will contain healthy resources for the community.
