Commander Lee Donovan has served with HPD for sixteen years.
He began in 2009 with the Midwest Patrol Division, where he remained until shifting to the Investigative First Respondents Division to work as an investigator at Northeast and South Gessner Patrol in that role.
Commander Donovan then joined Crimes Against Children, where he served as an investigator in the Child Sex Abuse Unit until 2017 when he was promoted to Sergeant. Before returning to Crimes Against
Children as an Investigative Sergeant, he served at the Jail Division and Southwest Patrol role until he promoted to Lieutenant in 2021. After three months, he took over the Crimes Suppression Teams at Westside, and briefly oversaw the Differential Response Team squads.He worked in patrol, investigations, tactics, and community service, among other areas of law
enforcement. Outside of the Houston Police Department, Commander Donovan and his family are actively involved in the community, participating in youth sports and neighborhood associations. Commander Donovan is pleased to be a member of the amazing South Gessner family and to use his knowledge and experience to find innovative solutions to all of the community’s concerns. |
