Solar United Neighbors
2022 Houston Solar Co-op

As a non-profit, SUN helps reduce the barriers to going solar. We are committed to helping people join together and go solar, as well as supporting policy interventions that improve access to solar. In and around Houston, we have organized 9 bulk purchase programs using our non-profit  “solar co-op” model since starting our work here at the end of 2018. The 2022 Houston Solar Co-op is currently open to new members – the deadline to sign up is June 1st. Our co-ops are always cost and commitment free to join.

For this co-op, we have divided Houston into four quadrants, with the SW quadrant already having selected their installer and proposals are being sent out. Our final information session will be on Thursday, May 19th from 4-5 pm. RSVP HERE. We are also offering two discounted 5 kW systems for qualifying homeowners (cash-flow positive year one!), thanks to philanthropic funds received (contact txteam@solarunitedneighbors.org for more information.)

Help Forge A New Transportation Vision

Our region is evolving, and how we approach transportation planning must evolve too.

At the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), we are planning for the region’s next 20 years. We want to forge a new vision that prioritizes safety, convenience, accessibility, and sustainability for the entire Gulf Coast region. A vision that drives opportunity wherever we live and however we move. Connecting every part of our community, now and in the future.

Help bring this vision to life by participating in our 2045 regional transportation plan update! Take our digital survey. Tell us what you think by attending a public meeting in your county. Help us connect the dots to help make getting around the region safer and better for generations to come.

All public meetings will be conducted in English. Additionally, there will be Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters available throughout the meetings. Persons needing to arrange ADA accommodations or additional language interpreters for the upcoming public meetings may call 832-681-2583 or email [email protected] within 48 hours of the event with your accommodation requests.

Please share this information and encourage your friends, family, and community to get involved – because life is better when we all work and thrive together!

By completing this survey, you are helping me understand how you want your tax dollars prioritized for spending. The survey can be found here in four languages: EnglishSpanishVietnamese, and Mandarin. Please, take a minute to share your two cents!
