A beloved Meyerland institution, known locally as “the bagel shop,” is adding a full-service catering operation to its restaurant and kosher bakery.
The addition comes as New York Bagels & Coffee Shop, 9720 Hillcroft St., welcomes a new business partner, Michael Saghian, to its corporate team. Bagel shop co-founder, Jay Kornhaber, will retire from the business on April 1, while Kornhaber’s longtime partner, Ed Gavrila, will stay on to co-own and co-run New York Bagels & Coffee Shop with Saghian.
