October is here, and with it comes an opportunity to get out and engage with your Brays Oaks community. We rounded up three events happening in the neighborhood with something for everyone, from community activism to trick or treating.
October 10th: Super Neighborhood 36 Meeting
On Tuesday October 10th, join Super Neighborhood 36 for their meeting with special guest speaker Senator Borris L. Miles. As a native Houstonian, Miles has served four terms in the Texas House of Representatives before being elected to the Texas State Senate in 2016. A successful businessman who has rehabilitated two commercial blocks, his perspective is sure to be interesting.
Celebrate Halloween a little early at this family-friendly event! Brays Oaks Management District, in partnership with UP Art Studio and Willow Waterhole Greenway, has put together a trunk or treat event at the Greenway that is sure to be a great time for everyone, adults and kids alike. There will be contests, a BBQ food truck, music and plenty of candy. Costumes encouraged, especially for the little ones!
October 28th: Willow Waterhole Greenway Carpathon 2017
If you like to fish, this event is for you. Join Willow Waterhole for an opportunity to help rid the Brays Bayou of invasive species, and compete for prizes! Registration is from 8-9am, with the fun beginning at 9am. The event will also feature an afternoon casting competition. You can register to attend here.
