SW school-expo

Westbury UMC will host its 8th Annual Southwest Houston School Expo on Saturday, October 17, 10 am to noon, in Humphrey Hall.

As a free event for area families, the expo’s goal is to empower parents to make informed choices about their children’s education. A mix of public and private schools in southwest Houston from all levels of education (elementary, middle and high school) will set up tables and provide information to prospective families.

“This expo makes it so easy to check out multiple schools at once and get to chat with key administration personnel at each table,” says Alisa Strength, a parent who attended last year’s expo. “What a perfect time saver for busy parents!”

Another mom, Carlyn Chatfield, came to the expo several years ago to consider high school options for her two daughters. “At the expo, I talked with schools I was not familiar with before and would not have considered,” she says. “Having a broader pool of schools to choose from made me feel much more confident about our final decision. Both of our children found the perfect schools for their individual strengths and were well prepared for college.”

Do you represent a school and would like to participate? It’s first-come, first served, with a maximum of 40 schools.
